Currently, forest fires are ongoing at five different locations across the Turkish provinces of Eskişehir, Sakarya, Bilecik, Karabük, and Manisa. The situation remains critical, and firefighting efforts are continuing in these regions.
In Eskişehir, the fires have spread rapidly due to fluctuating winds and elevated temperatures. Several towns in the area have been evacuated as a precautionary measure.
Tragically, devastating news has emerged from the Eskişehir fires: five forestry workers and five AKUT (Search and Rescue Association) volunteers have lost their lives while combating the flames in the Seyitgazi forest fire. All of the deceased were young, and one had been married only five days prior to the incident. The entire nation has been deeply affected by the loss of these ten individuals, who are regarded as martyrs for their sacrifice in the line of duty In Bilecik, six villages have been evacuated, and smoke from the fires has already reached neighboring provinces such as Bursa, raising concerns about the potential for further spread.
Although recent fires in Sakarya had been extinguished only a few days ago, a new fire has since broken out in the Geyve district and has spread rapidly. The steep terrain of the surrounding mountains has posed significant challenges for forestry teams attempting to bring the fire under control.
Additionally, reports indicate that fires have also erupted in other provinces, including Manisa, as well as in towns such as Safranbolu, Ovacık, and Dikili.
Numerous forestry workers and volunteers have sustained injuries during the ongoing firefighting operations. Efforts to contain and extinguish the fires are continuing. Our deepest condolences go out to the families of those who lost their lives, and our thoughts are with all injured forestry workers and volunteers

Below you can see the thermal activities recorded by the VIIRS satellites during the past 7 days.
